In response to COVID-19, Woods Marine Consultants are taking precautionary
measures to safeguard our surveyors, clients, marina staff and mitigate risk,
while continuing to provide necessary services for our valued customers. Our
office will remain open at this time and we will be practicing safety protocols
which include the inspection of vessels without owners or other trades present

Insurance Survey

An Insurance Survey provides your insurance underwriter with an assessment of the current and new replacement value for your vessel as well as highlighting any safety issues. It includes an itemized list of onboard equipment so you can be assured of fair compensation should a loss occur.

Pre-Purchase Survey

The pre-purchase survey is one of the most comprehensive types of inspections and is highly recommended when purchasing a new or used vessel.

Marine Claims

When we are appointed to handle your marine claim we will guide you through the process. Providing advice for repair facilities, working closely with the repairer, and underwriter. Upon completion of the repairs we will obtain and submit all invoices for settlement.

Woods Marine Consultants is operated by Kevin Woods, the year 2021 celebrates 31 years of providing service to the boaters and marine industry of British Columbia. Kevin a shipwright from Merseyside has worked in Europe and the Virgin Islands before arriving in Vancouver, BC. in 1990.

During the past 30 years Kevin has worked with the Lloyds Agency of Vancouver and holds the Merit distinction for Level 1 cargo claims inspections. Specializing in marine claims, Kevin has represented underwriters throughout North America and represented BOAT US during Hurricane Hugo in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico in1987.

A reputable marine surveyor, Kevin has guided thousands of boaters, new and experienced with the purchase of their vessel and provided service to renew their insurance with updated reports as required by underwriters.

Kevin also provides insurance renewal surveys to the commercial fleets of British Columbia and has experience with fiberglass, wood, steel and aluminum hulls.
